Hi! My cat was a rescue as a kitten and is now 8 years old.As a kitten she had a problem with throwing up and after visits to 2 different vets was diagnosed with food allergies. She has since eaten nothing but Perscription dry cat food and a small amount of tuna in water daily.Over the past year she has developed an issue with wiping her butt on the floor whenever she uses the litter and leaving poop streaks on the floor. She also randomly rubs her butt on the floor.Last week she threw up 6 times in one morning then had a loose bowel movement on my floor. She is terrified of cars but I got her to the vet and they did blood work and said all that was not normal was a slight infection. They gave her a antibiotic shot and a shot to stop the throwing up and a hydration shot and sent me home with a liquid antibiotic. She has been doing better but wouldn't come out from under the bed for 2 days due to trauma from the trip. Now I am worried again because today she threw up this morning and now she threw up tonight. She has also passed stinky gas 2 times today. She is drinking water and wanting to be brushed and purring if you push on her abdomen it dosent seem to hurt her.I am at a loss for answers and don't want to tramatize her in the car again if its not needed.I cannot locate a local mobile vet and am not sure about there qualifications if I did.She never goes outside and never has.She is scared of the outdoors and will not even look out doors or windows. If anyone has any insight  I would appreciate it.

Yo could try CALLING the Vet and telling them she is throwing up again.  I don't know why they would actually need to see her again so soon since they just did.

It's possible the anti-emetic has worn off, and it's the antibiotic that is making her throw-up.  Often they do.  She may need a different one if she's still on it.

Also, it's possible her food actually needs changing.  Food sensitivities can change over the years.  Did they ever determine what her allergies are?  Many cats are allergic to fish, so perhaps even the tuna in  water is causing her issues?  You can get limited ingredient wet food, or even give her some raw meat, which is REALLY a limited ingredient, as a treat to replace that tuna.

As for mobile vets, they ARE competent, if you can locate one.  I don't know if you're in the U.S., but if so, maybe this will help  http://www.inyourarea.net/local2/17451/?gclid=CNiG1pjkzMcCFUNhfgodST8OoQ

This happened to me this fall. I just took my cat to the vet and he threw up again and they told me to come back. I told them  no way. My cat is fractious at the vet.

I rode the night out, gave my cat nothing but water flavored by food he liked so he would drink.  At the time my cat was pooping water all over and throwing up randomly. It is hard to see that and not panic but I felt it would only get worse if I took him back to the vet.  After a long night.. he calmed down. I gave him some small food with the antibiotic and for a few weeks we were ok.  I got some bland food from the vet as well.

Eventually what solved it for me was a probiotic supplement and also an ENZYME supplement.  I think that was the missing link.  It firmed the stools right up.
