Hi!My 2 year old kitten Pawz has for the longest time been following me into the bathroom!Normaly I would say it might be because he wants to be near me but,he does it with evryone. Also, ive noticed sometimes while urinating shakes his tail like a rattel snake's and lifts up and mises onto the floor.Any ideas?

ALL my cats like to have the bathroom visit. In my house, I don't even bother to close the door.

As for the peeing position, it is fairly normal and I would simply suggest a covered litter box so the urine will hit the hood and run into the box (instead of anything outside the box). I have had several cats that have done this. They just don't squat to pee.

I too can't close the bathroom door. When I do, the boys go crazy! Crying and scratching at the door, you would think I go into a new dimension when I close the door!
I also have a "social pee-er".
If I use the toilet, Pipsqueek has to use his litter box.

Loki also waits outside the bathroom door if it is closed! He dosen't like the idea of any door being closed.

I've got one that will poop over the side of the box, now that's nasty. We went with a deep box. I saw adds for one in a magazine, very expensive. We made our own with a Rubbermaid 16 gal. storage tote (about $5.) You can cut an access hole in the lid or just leave it off.

pooky-

If Pawz goes outside the box, or if he pees multiple times small amounts several times a day, then it is usually a blockage or a health issue and a vet should be seen.

Dori also HATES it when any door in the apartment is closed. She freaks out. And she always goes in the bathroom with me. I don't care except that she always wants to jump onto my lap when I use the bathroom! When I take a shower she jumps on the counter and then up onto the very top of the bathroom door and just rests way up there. It's so funny because she can't really fit up there she just manages to balance herself.

Rosie can be fast asleep in the living room one minute, but the minute i get up she follows me, be it the kitchen or any other room.

If i take a bath, she comes in and falls asleep!. I think it must be the heat that does it!.

Lil and Leenie always follow me into the bathroom even if theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve been sleeping or otherwise occupied. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t close the door anymore either. This is OK at home but Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve also left the bathroom door open when I was visiting friends and once even at work! I was just about to pull my jeans down when I realised I was not at home and there would be no cats following me!

I think following to the bathroom is a common occurence, there is a thread called 'Dear Cat' that makes a joke of it. Jeepers follows anyone to the bathroom and makes a racket if she gets there and the door is closed.

Most of my cats hate when you close the bathroom door. Some will walk by and push it open, but won't come in. Other's will cry outside the door until you open it up. Amber, of course, loves to chase TP down the toilet (always clean water) and if you take a shower, you have to keep the bathroom door shut or she will join you in the tub.
