Comet is in the hospital

I was gone in the hospital for my own health issues and had a friend taking care of him. I assured there was plenty of his Purina One food and tempations treats. She decided to feed him her own Kibbles and Bits and a bowl of milk twice a day + table scraps --he got very ill. When I returned home yesterday, I found vomit in numerous places, diarrhea, and he was laying there moaning. I rushed him to the vet and he's on IV fluids. He's stopped vomiting this morning, and they are trying salt-free broth. No word as to how he's doing yet. I don't give him milk ever. And never table scraps.

I am so sorry this has happened.  Hopefully all your kitty needs is supportive care until everything works out of his system.

Oh no! What an irresponsible pet-sitter to completely ignore your instructions. Best wishes for Comet's full recovery!

Have you considered texting back and forth with your 'cat-sitter' and asking her exactly what she gave him and why she neglected to follow your instructions of giving him the specific food you supplied? That way you would have 'written' record of her admitting to causing your cat's illness and you could get her to pay the vet bills. Just a thought. Otherwise, just be grateful she only had him a few days and things are not worse than they are!
