Trey Moo

My niece's 21-year-old cat passed away yesterday. She was just 7 when she chose this sickly little ball of fur at the shelter, much to her parents' dismay. There were many times over the course of his long life that it looked like she was going to lose him, but scrappy little Trey always made it. He was very tolerant of the humans, felines and canines who joined the family, taking them and several moves into stride, always a loving and loyal companion to his human mom. It's said that cats don't do things out of spite, but how do you explain 20+ years of Trey pooping in the shoes of whoever scolded him? :lol3:

RIP, Trey. You left your mark on many hearts and will be missed.

I don't know if knowing you had 21 years of love and companionship and then losing them is harder or more acceptable to the heart knowing you DID have 21 years together. 21 years is a miracle in itself.  If I could have a prayer come true it would be for ALL of our little one's to live that long. All I know is that there is a broken heart and empty arms, both so hard to take. 21 years is a big part of anyone's life, and almost all of hers, and I know the world and her home are so much emptier with his passing. Trey sounds like a character, and I'm sure he got what he wanted, attention and a reaction, when he pooped in those shoes after being scolded! My heart goes out to her, the hole in her heart will take a long time to heal. I hope she can take comfort in her precious memories, and I'll keep them both in my thoughts and prayers. RIP sweet Trey, I know you stayed as long as you could, you were so greatly loved and will NEVER be forgotten. Please bring kisses on the gentle breeze to the one who will forever hold you in her heart!

I am so sorry for your niece's loss.  Please pass along my condolences to her.  I know it must be very hard on her, since she grew up with Trey and he has been a part of her life for so long.
