My feral cat community is speading mange mites to eachother & their faces are so swollen that they can barely open their eyes. I've been desperately trying to trap them with no luck. Is there a liquid treatment for this that I can put in some tuna or wet cat food? Or is revolution the only solution. If that is the case, I need to borrow a drop trap from someone in San fernado valley, ca let me know if you have one to borrow.

Hi @sophiasmommy

I'm sorry you haven't had any answers yet. I'm afraid I don't know how to treat mange orally, I've only ever treated it by regular injections. I'm bumping your post so that it will get some more attention.

I think @catwoman707  knows the CA area well, maybe she knows someone you can borrow a trap from

I am in northern Ca, but Ca has a ton of places where you can borrow (likely with a deposit) a drop trap.

I made my own, I wanted a specific design to it.

Mange isn't hard to treat, but if untreated will get really bad fast.

Ivermectin injections or revolution, or even advantage weekly will take care of this.

Are these cats already fixed? If not, no better time!

I'm not sure why you were unsuccessful in trying to use conventional traps.

I've already had these feral cats fixed at fixnation years ago.  I used a drop trap and got the one that was in the worst condition and applied revolution to him at the vet's office.  I bought 2 more revolutions for the other 2 cats.  So, it's just a matter of time.

Thanks!  I was just looking for an oral medication but, doesn't seem to be one in existence.

Thanks!
