Winn just had 1 little kitty, almost 3 hours ago. She's happy and content, the kitten is nursing, and she doesn't appear to still be in labor.
When I finally got miss-escapee home (she's a 5 year old inside cat who has never had an interest in going outside, ever, until she did), I noticed she was pregnant. I think this was around august 7th? I expected it since the neighbor feeds all the strays so there are always cats around. She never got big huge pregnant, but had a firm round belly. I figured she had 2 or 3. I also could never feel more than one at a time, and never felt anything move at all (winn wasn't loving me touching her belly so I only tried a handful of times). I could see it move when she laid on her side. She looked a little fatter, but not like a hugely pregnant cat. I was on the fence about keeping one.
As soon as I got up this morning, she was yowling at me. I knew it would be today. She had never started nesting, and never lost interest in food, but I knew she was getting close. I went to work (only 3 hours), and came home and she was still meowing like crazy and so very clingy. She wanted food, so I gave her a can, she ate her usual amount, and when she came back to her blanket she always lays on, there was some clear/pink fluid. She alternated between her blanket and my bed (where I was quietly "ignoring" her while playing on my computer). She was breathing kind of heavy. I noticed around 6:15 that she was missing from either spot. She never wanted anything to do with the three nesting boxes I made up for her. I found her in a tv cabinet on top of a bunch of old VHS tapes that were just thrown about in there. Could not have been comfortable. I moved her, put two towels down, and put her back. She delivered pretty quickly. She was mad, and yowled and hissed. I saw a tail so I reached down to see if it was stuck or anything and it wasn't, but I got bit. lol, poor kitty. When the kitten was out, she growled at it, and then just glared at it for probably a full minute. Then started cleaning it.
She had it at 6:25, and 3 hours later, nothing more. Her belly still feels round, but not real firm. I can't detect kitten shapes.
Like I said, I was on the fence about keeping one. But then I saw the kitty closer, it is a classic tabby, my favorite, in tortie colors. I doubt I will be calling her "Wolfgang" like I had planned, but keeping her none the less. And learned my lesson about indoor cats needing to be spayed too .
I weighed her about an hour ago, she's 3.25 oz.
The pictures are horrible, I lost my camera, and my phone is bad, but better than nothing.
