Hello, Forum, new member here.
So, my cat suddenly stopped eating Sunday evening. I was away most of the day, but came home to vomit residue on my bed and food buried in the carpet by the bedroom door. I took him to the vet after a puking fit on Tuesday afternoon. I picked him up and put him on the bed, then he started hacking white foam stuff. There was a small hairball (very small) and on the fifth "hack" a small strain of carpet came out. I took him to the vet. He weighs more than he did a year ago. All he body signs were normal - temp., eyes, mouth'gums, etc. The vet gave him an IV and some bland cat food.
It's Wednesday evening now. He still hasn't eaten, so I tempted him with some tuna. He took two licks of the juice, walked to the other side of the bed and immediately puked. Some more hairball came out, like a pinky nail size, and the liquid was clear green. He moved to the floor and hacked up foamy white stuff again, then he ran away into the closet.
He's an upstairs/garage attic/roof cat. He doesn't interact with the dogs downstairs, other cats, and we don't have houseplants. He's been in the same living conditions for seven months and his food hasn't changed.
I will definitely follow up with the vet tomorrow, but as a concerned Fur Daddy, I'm concerned and would like to know what's wrong with him. Any ideas?
