I used to think they were ugly but they are growing on me. I have seen a few I think are adorable!

How could you call Persians ugly?!?! In fact how could you call any cat ugly? Different cats for different people yes, but thats kind of harsh. I personally love persians
Theyre pretty damn cute.

Peace,
Brandon

Persians are beautiful in their own way! I see them as a "royal" breed, they are just so elegant! I used to dislike Persians, their squishy faces didn't really appeal to me at all. When I first started posting here, so many people were breeding Persians and showing the most PRECIOUS ADORABLE SWEET pictures their Persian kittens.

Like I said, all cats are unique in their own ways. Persians are beautiful in every way. They have the most stunning eyes, the softest fur and that look of innocence... it's all too much!

I don't prefer flat faces. It is a simple preference. But, as a groomer, I see a multitude of those flat faced cats whose eyes are left so goopy they actually have the equivilent of diaper rash under them (NOW THAT IS UGLY!). And grooming customers whose cats have noses so short it pains me to hear them NOT being able to breathe right (THAT TOO IS UGLY). So there are extremes out in the real world that aren't the "show quality" type of Persian you see here in the breeder's corner.

I think all kitties are wonderful, but I do prefer the doll-faced Persians myself (the ones without the squashed noses). It hurts just thinking about having my nose squashed like that!

I guess this statement says it all, doesn't it?

I can't believe people would come on a cat forum where there are many persian owners included, and call their preferred breed ugly. You might as well tell someone they have an ugly baby when they're strolling it down the street. I wouldn't come up to yo on the street, gopher and tell you: "you're ugly. Can you say something to make me appreciate you more?"

There are many cats I don't particularly care for their looks. But I would never profess their ugliness on a forum for cats. Even when I see some cats on here that I don't particularly like their looks, I keep my comments to things like "what a pretty coat your kitty has" or something generic. Because to me, cats deserve the same amount of dignity as humans and they are all beautiful in their own way. Frankly, I get tired of always appreciating everyone's cats and my cats only get comments from a very select few (I love you guys that do!) But this whole thread just hurts my feelings. And it's racism (or I guess we could call it breedism).

I have 5 smooshy faced persian's and they are the best cats I've every had. And to me they are beautiful and exotic looking. Maybe what you need is to grow up. Then you might be able to appreciate diversity a little more.

One of my beautiful flat faced persians. How can you say that face is ugly?

So who's cats are ugly now? It's surely not mine.

The eye thing... that's called Neglect and it's not the cat's fault.
