Dora the 5 month old kitten had her spay yesterday.

She has gone crazy. I understand kittens are playful but Dora tends to jump 6 foot in the air with nothing being their.

Is she still drugged up. I don't understand the issue with her and it makes me want to cry seeing her so hyper as it's not like her at all.

If this behavior is just since the spay yesterday, then, yes, it could still be the affects of anesthesia or perhaps a pain medication she may have been given.

I'd keep her confined to a small area and keep it quite.

I suspect she will calm down over the next 24 hrs or so.

I do want to add...
If you are concerned about her behavior, it is *never* wrong to phone your vet (or the vet that did surgery) and discuss this with them.

Hey!

I think in fact I know that I am a complete worrier. She is fine, she had her post op check up yesterday and the vet was very pleased with the results and said the operation wound was by far the best work he had seen. I was told I overfeed her and this could cause too much sugar in her and like any baby whether human or not too much sugar = hyper. She is off to a cattery on Monday so this is now new mummy worries.!

I was thinking just along the same lines as CatPack below.   We can't help but worry about our little babies :)  Their part of our family :)   Don't worry you'll figure her out soon enough.  Keep in  touch with your vet and always chat on line here at "thecatsite" which is loaded with helpful info.  It's helped me with my two kitties ;)  Keep us posted.

:lol3: I'm glad she's fully recovered from her spay surgery now. I'm a complete worrier too, so you're definitely not alone ;)
