Last week I started noticing my cat was urinating outside of the litter box and Sunday it was much worse when I got home after being gone all weekend. I was not sure what was wrong so I put him in a small area so I can monitor him and I noticed blood when I walked in noticing him peeing . He don't seem to be wanting to drink any water but he is eating some. Yesterday I don't think he urinated that much and I am now getting stressed out and worried. A friend of mine has close connections with a vet and at first they said bladder crystals until they asked me if he was fixed and he is they said it most likely is a UTI so I started him on some antibiotics Monday hat I had at home but I don't think that he is getting better. I am a single mom with 2 kids and sure cant afford a huge vet bill right now. Does anyone have any home remedy suggestions I should try?

The presence of blood in the urine doesn't necessarily mean a UTI.  It could mean inflammation in the bladder, it could mean cystitis, it could mean an infection.  And treating for a possible infection with an "at home" antibiotic isn't necessarily a good idea.  Is this a HUMAN antibiotic?  If so, what is it?  Many human medications are poisonous to cats (not says this is the case, but it's possible)

I would say if he is not drinking, that would be a reason why his output is less, but if he stops urinating totally, then you've got to take immediate action, as this would indicate he is blocked, and that can be deadly.

I know you said you can't afford a huge vet bill now, but it possible he won't have a HUGE bill.  He might be in pain though.  Does he have any other signs other than urinating outside the box and blood in his urine.  Excessive licking of his "privates"?  Crying when he urinates?  Straining, or just appearing to try and nothing coming out?

I really think he needs to go to a Vet for care, including the correct antibiotic (if need be), pain killers (if need be).  And you need to try to get fluids in him, even if it means adding water to his food.  Maybe this will help you:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/155462/cant-afford-a-vet-please-read
