I have a cat who is almost 2 years old. When I first got her, she was a baby and we had no other cats. When she was almost maybe 5 months me and my parents moved and had 2 other cats and she was reclusive, tried to run outside all the time, even when fixed. She was very unsociable and such and would try and fight the other cats. A few months ago I moved to a new place, with just her and she is very loving, and always wants affection. Is very vocal, and never tries to go outside. Does she hate cats? Is she lonely? This sudden change in behavior worries me, and is escalating. She just wants so much more attention to where she will hit at me and such for love, even if I just laid down and pet her for hours. It makes it hard to do things around the house.

Velvetraynet? Is your cat a Siamese? Annabel is one and I couldn't live without her being vocal. Wants to run? Genetic, late spring and late summer. Your cat needs a safe environment to do that in. I live in an apt. and she has solid boundaries. Handsome kitty says housework is overrated? Annabel likes it when I sweep. I don't have a vacuum which I don't know how she'd handle. She's 2 and obviously where you lived before was uncomfortable for her. Siamese are the most human of all cats. She or he might assert dominance over another cat if it gets bothersome or out of line. We had a problem with an unrelated cat trying to play for her ATTN. She handled the situation but it seemed too stupid to get the point and not a good running buddy. I don't know if you live in a house or apt. but if you let a Siamese outside you must watch her like a 2 year old. Never never leave her or him alone outside. Ever. Breeders caution against outside at all but most of us allow with strict boundaries and never never when we're asleep. I assure you there's nothing wrong with your cat.

My cat, Iiah is a common American short hair. When I try to clean she follows me around, meows and rubs on me so I will love on her (I am flattered but a bit flustered on what to do) Unless I am vacuuming. Then she runs and hides. I live in an apartment. I forgot to mention, when we moved I switched her to grain-free diet, since it is better for cats. Maybe it is because of that? She does go crazy and stuff though. Very active.

A cat should be grain free as much as possible. I don't have the money for Iams or other more expensive foods but Friskies is the best for most stuff. I think all cats are afraid of the vacuum. I'm interested that an American shorthair is vocal. I thought only Siamese were.

She may prefer being the only cat- especially if she was unsociable with the other cats. Just give her the attention she wants, and ensure she has lots of toys, and a cat tree near a window etc. she will be fine, sounds like she maybe happier without having to fight or hide from the other cats!

Yea. She is very vocal. She also does this thing where she will stand outside her litter box and just scoop it out. We switched to corncob litter from clay during the move also, MAybe that's why? She still uses it though.
