My cat is about 8 months old and I noticed he kept pawing at his mouth so I looked to see if something was stuck , I saw a little blood. I rubbed some water in his mouth and his tooth came out. Is that normal? hes no longer pawing at his mouth. His gums seem normal. I brush his teeth, is he loosing his baby teeth?

At 8 months old it is very likely your cat is shedding kitten teeth.   The roots are usually re-absorbed by the body and the enamel cap comes away once the root no longer holds it firm.  The permanent teeth usually fill the space pretty immediately.   Many people never even notice the process happening.   During teething and the adult teeth cutting through kittens often have a little gum redness and their breath can be a little smelly but this should not persist once all teeth are through.
