Last night I had a sleepover with a friend who ate some chocolate ice cream, however she left the chocolate ice cream lying on the floor and I think my 2 month old kitten may have had some of that. He was fine for the rest of the night however this morning he has thrown up twice. It's only been clear liquid which didn't worry too much, I tried to give him some food to eliminate the possibility that he maybe was hungry and he hasn't eaten this morning, only had water to drink. He's not as active today but I'm assuming it's because he's got a bit of an upset tummy. Issue is I'm a 17 year old looking after my kitten whilst everyone has gone away on holiday, I haven't got enough money to take him to the vet today. Don't any of you dare lecture me about how vet trips aren't optional and how not to own a cat if I can't afford it. I'm 17 with no job. My mum can't send me any money today as she has no internet access. Other than that the kitty hasn't had any diarrhoea so I'm not too worried as this happened before when he got hold of pizza he threw up but was instantly fine. Is it possible to induce vomiting so he gets it all out of his system or should I just let him be? He hasn't throw up since the morning, he's currently asleep. Any help appreciated, any lecture will be ignored or deleted if possible. Thanks :)

IMO you don't need to induce vomiting. If it's an upset tummy from the ice cream, he'll probably be okay after a little while. Let him sleep it off, and when he wakes up you might try offering him something mild if you have anything like plain cooked or canned chicken, or canned tuna.

If he isn't improving (and eating) by tomorrow you probably should try to get him to a vet as soon as possible. He might be coming down with something more serious. Has he had any vaccines yet?

Chocolate is poisonous to cats.
True but its usually the actual chocolate and not something chocolate flavored. I'm hoping this was just the flavored kind, not extra dark or anything. Do you have any idea how much he might have eaten?

I think he may have had maybe 6 or 7 licks, when I realised I couldn't see him running around that's when I thought crap and saw his dead inside the Ice cream tub. The Ice cream was haagen dazs chocolate salted caramel. Believe it's just milk flavoured. It's been a while since he vomited, he's just woken up and just lying next to me. I will try and get him to eat but if he still is unwell I will take him to the vet tomorrow. Thanks for the help :)
