Sounds like a rowdy group. It's normal for kittens to fight while nursing. Usually it is over a nipple. They have their favorites and they'll fight each other for it. They're all still learning how to play as well. Do they growl at all? How vocal are they when they fight?

It's time to get the mama cat spayed.

It is also not uncommon for kittens to nurse mom until they are 3-4 months old, or as long as mom will allow.

What are your plans for the kittens? It's time to begin spaying/neutering them too, as well as finding homes for them.

Spaying a neutering them yes but we're not finding them homes they are home. We have enough room and money to keep them

That's nice that you are keeping them!

Mom needs spaying now before she goes into heat and gets pregnant again. Her milk will also dry up and she'll stop nursing them.

Kittens are eligible now too before they reach sexual maturity.

It will calm them down some too!

You are 100% correct but mommas currently in heat and I was wondering if it's a good idea or bad to get them all done at once so they won't jump around hurting each other

I assume you are not letting mom outside while she's in heat. You can have her spayed after this heat cycle ends.

The pregnant stray I took in had four kittens, all of whom I have kept. They are 7 months old now. I took 2 in at 12 weeks, and the other 2 a week later at 13 weeks. It was just easier for me to handle the cat carriers that way.

Mine returned to playing almost immediately. I had 3 males and 1 female and all did just fine. I never separated or sequestered any of them.

Kittens heal very fast! It's up to you how you want to handle it though.

I did request pain meds to take home for my mama cat, and gave them to her for 3 days. She needed them. Kittens were fine without them, other than what was administered that day.

How many kittens do you have?

[@]sarthur2 ..... momma did get out once grrrrr so shes due any time now.her 5 kittens are all almost 6 months.only ones a girl and all her brothers are after her but i got a cage this time. Our humane society has us on a 6 -8 week waiting list ..fun.. its been tough due to first the fleas finally controlled that then tape worms all treated shots... savings gone so waiting on free surgery is best i can do. The new kittens will be going to a no kill sanctuary after nursing is through. Then idk what to do about momma being so aggresive.but i love them all

Yes, kittens are expensive. This is why it is best to spay and neuter promptly, and to be sure to keep you cats inside. Perhaps you should rehome a pair from the first litter if you don't have enough money in case you need to take someone to the emergency vet, etc.

Please try to find them homes that will care for them properly and not just put them in a shelter. That way you can check out the possible owners, etc.

Yes, it is possible, and not even all that unusual. If she's not in distress, and acting normally, she's fine and will have it soon.

Are you supplementing the tiny kittens with formula? They may need it for awhile.

Do you plan to spay mom after this third litter weans?
