Hello, I am in a hurry so I'm going to speak it short, how can I capture a small kitten which is inside the car?((not actually inside, propably near the engine or something))l.

PS. The cat has been crying all day and I am 100% sure that her mum has abandoned it, I am really worried about the kitten as I am a pet owner too...

Sorry for not mentioning it above, but the owner of the car is on holidays and he allowed me to search it in any way, but I can't open it to use the horn.

And, I was unable to capture the kitten today(right now it's night) and I will try again tommorow, but do you think she will have left by then and went far away(or at least a few metres away) , or will she have stayed exactly near the car. Oh, and she got out of the car once, but as soon as I got out of my house, she ran back in.

This is a new one on me. You could try setting a trap with food in it and hope the kitten is hungry enough that he comes out for it. You could also call rescue groups and find out who does TNR work in your area and ask them for help. If you don't think the kitten will last long enough for those measures and you decide to actually get under the car and try to catch him, it would probably be a good idea to have someone with you to catch the kitten if it runs out.

The only other thing I can think of is to get a locksmith in to open the car so you can open the hood. That won't help you blow the horn but to get an actual key made you would probably need proof of ownership.

Good luck with this!

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately, there's nothing I can do at the moment as there is no enough light to see under the car((the kitten is black as well) and my phone's flashlight isn't working either, although I will definitely go and search for the kitten tommorow. But, in case I don't find the kitten in the car, how far do you think I should search ? Do small Kittens move far or will she propably stay there until it's daytime comes?

Unfortunately I have no experience with ferals so I don't know the answer to that. I imagine if the kitten does come out, it might be to look for food so to avoid that maybe you could put a little food under the car. The kitten would probably go back up into the car for safety. It would really depend on the presence of other wildlife as to whether or not this was safe. I am on a phone and will try to page someone to help who knows a lot about ferals but if this doesn't work, a good person to ask is catwoman707. catwoman707 catwoman707

My first thought would be to open the hood and have a garden hose with a nozzle on the end to adjust, create a tight strong stream and from the top only, use fast, short blasts of water, causing her to go down back out from under the car.

You do not want to do this from underneath.

Let me know if you are able to pop the hood or not.

If you do not, you will need a kitten trap set with smelly food like tuna and trap her in it.

I went to the car today only to find that the kitten had left. I searched the area, but I did not find it.((I'm glad I searched the area as I captured a dove which is really sick and did not attepmt to fly away/ or even move away from me.)). I'll search again later, but I doubt I will find it... Although, as long as the kitten finds food and water, she will be fine as there're no dangerous animals in my city and the weather is not cold.

It's a shame the kitten took off before you could catch him.  Hopefully he will find another kind soul to feed and care for him.  It's very kind of you to take in the dove - I hope you are able to get it some help.

UPDATE: While I was walking to my appartment, I heared the kitten crying inside a sewer(They're very different from the Americans Sewers, they are very small and a person can barely move crouching). I called my municipallity and asked them to bring help to get the kitten out of the sewers, but they declined my request. They also declined my request to send one guy to help me open the manhole properly(They're very old in my city and can't open easily). Well, I grabbed my crowbar, removed the manhole and took the kitten out of the sewers. I then took it to the vet to check it(didn't spray her).  And apparently the kitten might have been "lost" or taken away as the mother cat, which lives in my backyard and plays with my outdoor cat, approached the kitten  and was very friendly with her. I'm going to keep the kitten inside my house until it grows up(won't risk it and return it back to the cat), but she will be able to see the mother due to living in my backyard.

PS: The dove I found is becoming better after the visit to the vet and it doesn't seem to be concerned about living(temporary) in my small bathroom( Won't buy a cage  for it and I'm not going to put a sick bird in the same cage with my budgerigars as I'm releasing it when it becomes fines.)

What a wonderful update! And even the dove is doing better. You are so kind to take these little beings in. You saved their lives - that's a wonderful thing. So glad you took them to the vet and are going to keep watching out for them!
