Today I am picking a cat up from my vet - I found her along the road - she may have been tossed out of the car.  She had head trauma, which is getting better, but her real problem may be that she has lost a good part of her tongue.  I was hoping to get some advice.  Thanks.  Lady Director

Aww poor cat no cat deserves to be hurt like that I hope she/he gets better.I did a little reaserch on google and unfortunately cat tongues dont grow back just like humans :( is he/she having trouble drinking because she/he might not get enough water. I think it be easier for your cat to have dry food not wet food because of her tongue. But maybe you can spoon feed her wet food and water if thats possible. Hopefully your cat recovers quickly and gets used to eating with only half her/his tongue. Are u planing to keep her/him?

We have a member whose cat had a tomor on his tongue and they removed most of his tongue to remove the tumor.  That was earlier this summer.   The cat was having a tough time eating, however at the last post had actually gained a little weight, so obviously was able to get some nourishment.  I've just asked for an update on how things are going, so maybe we'll get more information.
