Last night the woman brought us our new kitten. She is a Snowshoe Siamease. We got her at 4:30 pm and aside from a couple tiney naps, we played off and on until 10:00. Then I decided it was bedtime. She is still in there. I have her carrier set on my nightstand with a towel in it and a stuffed animal that she has already taken to. She is literally sleeping right next to me but is still sound asleep right now as I'm up for awhile as usual. She had not ate anythjing, drank, or used the litter, in the 5 1/2 hrs that she was awake before now (now its a total(10 1/2 hrs). Should I worry. I don't remember ever having a kitten wait so long. She just turned 8 weeks 2 days ago. She is seeing the vet at 9:30 am in the morning for her first ever visit.

Congrats on your new baby! Sometimes new kittens are excited/nervous with being in an unfamiliar place and they won't eat, drink, or use the potty at first. It is great that she was playing and getting to know you which should help.

What are you feeding her? Is it the same kind of food she is familiar with? That can make a difference too.

The people I got her from said that they weaned her on to Friskies Pate' and the last few days had switched her over to another Friskies product, I just cant remember the name (very colorful) just a dry food now and that she was doing well. I have Nutrisource Cat and Kitten Brand Dry Food (Chicken and Liver) for my 2 cats I already have as its what saved my 1 year old cats life (literally). Everything else he threw up. So she can eat the same as the other 2. I have separate bowls set up for her now. I free feed.  She explored the WHOLE apartment (its only 1 bedroom) on her own though and was not at all afraid of the other 2 cats even though they followed her around. :) She just acted like she owned the place. I think they are all doing great for the first night!!!!

The cats are doing well with the kitten now who has made herself right at home. The only thing I think has bothered Norville is she took over the top post of the cat tree and that was his spot. She is only 8 weeks 3 days old today and wow does she have spunk!!! But is very cuddly too. I have named her Sami as of this morning. I was debating between Sami and Trudi and finally decided she just looked more like a Sami. I will try the pic again. I know I have done this in the past and I have other places so I don't know why I had so much a problem the other night. lol.
