Hello I'm deeply troubled I found out yesterday one of my 3 Male kittens was sexually attacked by stray male cat in our neighborhood and it appears there are two male cats that come to the yard specifically looking for my lil boys. I fear all three have been territorially marked in a sense and I don't know what to do. They act different than before we had them outside at first I thought maybe its from adjusting and they miss being inside with us but I see now that this could be a cry for help .. I would like advice of what to do ... I don't want to let my kittens be some other cat's piece of tail when they aren't to the tail chasing age themselves. I have read stories that have also frightened me .. Of kittens done this way not eating or getting sick from this ... I am in hard times and cannot get to a vet for another two weeks. Can anyone give me advice?

Can you bring them in so they won't get attacked? I don't know any other way - if you let them out they can be attacked by other cats, that's just the way it is. It sounds like they aren't happy or safe outside.

I'm sorry that your kittens got attacked. I hope they are OK.  This sounds like a territorial thing to me. I'm assuming that none of the cats involved are neutered? if that is the case, the toms that are doing the attacking are doing so to protect their territory and their females. Can you bring the kittens inside until they can be neutered? Keeping them away from their attackers is your only real option right now.

The toms that are doing this need to be neutered as well. If you only neuter your males and these toms remain intact, it will lessen the chance that this will happen again because they will no longer see your cats as much of a threat anymore but it still could happen. I know that they are not your cats but they really need help. They will be much better off in so many ways if they are neutered. This will cut down the aggression in them tremendously. if there is a TNR group or a rescue organization near you that can help out with this, you'll be helping everyone involved.

If you are interested in helping these cats out (and at the same time helping your cats- and you too by lessening the risk of future attacks and thus vet bills) and need help finding  low cost spay/neuter, please tell us where you are and we can help you look.

Again, these toms are not your cats and they are not your responsibility but if they are truly strays and have no one taking care of them, they need someone to look out for them if only for the neutering. These cats do appreciate every kindness they are shown even if they have a hard time expressing it sometimes. The Humane Society near me often gives out vouchers for spaying and neutering. Maybe your local one does too.

You have no idea what a view changer your post was ...I've been sitting here angry at these cats I never got so furious at an animal.. I will look into it for sure. I had been thinking of just taking them far away but that wouldn't be good either. But getting them help would do everyone wonders. I just need to catch them now.. Thank you so much

Can you put them in some type of enclosure for now?? Maybe a large dog crate or something similar? If these toms attacked them before, they will likely do it again as they will still see them as a threat. If they do and you're not there to stop them, it could end up as a tragedy especially if you're dealing with 2 kittens on the wrong side of 2 full grown males. I wouldn't underestimate what they are capable of.

Are you treating them for the fleas with anything? You can use a fine tooth comb to remove them and put the ones you take off into a bowl or something that has water and Dawn dish soap in it. That will kill them.  You can also bathe them in Dawn. The vet has topicals for fleas such as Frontline or Advantage. You might be able to get those from Amazon or Chewy.com as well.

That's good to hear. These cats aren't villains. They are just cats acting like cats do. Again, if you need help finding a spay/ neuter clinic, please let us know. You would be helping them out more than you realize. Who knows? You might end up making 2 new friends.

Since we found out about it yesterday we are keeping the kittens in a kennel cage at night and I'm staying watch for the cats. As for the fleas we've been using a flea shampoo and spray inside which is why we haven't let them come inside just yet we are working on it as hard we can
