I have fed four different cats (two which lived 19 years each and two that are now 6 years old) Fancy Feast Grilled Turkey as a treat. Many times at about 6PM each day they have let me know it was time for their Fancy Feast. I have fed 1/2 of a 3 oz. can to each cat for many years without incident.
However, over the last year in particular my current cats eat their Fancy Feast eagerly and then vomit, usually within 5 to 10 minutes. I have tried other "Grilled" Fancy Feast flavors, because the cats really like the gravy, and they still "barf it up". They are very healthy and have no behavioral problems.
I have read some other posts that indicate that Fancy Feast is now being made in China. I have contacted Nestle/Purina via email to inquire as to where Fancy Feast is being made, but I have gotten no response.
I also have fed all my cats IAMS Original as their base diet and they still like it. However, I now understand that is being made in China as well.
Bottom line is that I do not trust any food produce made in China, for human or animal consumption. I am done (ASAP) with Nestle/Purina.
I am having difficulty weaning off Fancy Feast to Blue Healthy Gourmet Chicken Meaty Morsels. I put it down, the cats run to their bowls, sniff and walk away. I am now simply placing about a teaspoon amount in their bowls and leaving it until the next morning. I then repeat the 6PM feeding with another teaspoon of "Blue". My Bengal has started licking the gravy, but the Bengal Mix still walks away.
Thankfully they both are still eating their IAMS kibble without incident. Also, I mix Hills Prescription t/d kibble (1 cup to 3 cups IAMS) because it helps keep their teeth and gums in great shape. As a result, none of my cats have ever had to have a dental scraping.
Once I get them acclimated to a new wet food treat, I hope to introduce them to Blue Wilderness Chicken kibble.
OK, enough of my long winded approach to the question. Is anyone else having negative results feeding Fancy Feast?
