Should I treat for worms?

My cats are indoor cats the only time we had flea issues is when they were brought home. One came from the SPCA with fleas, another was a Craigslist find with fleas. One got tapeworm from fleas and the only reason I knew was because part of one came out after the vet checks his temperature (I know gross!). His stool was checked after they gave him meds and he was worm free. Well a few months ago we got a puppy that got fleas from going outside. We have giving him frontline and it has not gotten rid of them all yet (the vet said frontline changes its formula because it was no longer working but the kind for smaller dogs hadn't been changed yet or something.). We have been putting frontline on the cats as well but I think I have spotted some flea dirt on their necks, and a few fleas. They are due for treatment again next week and thankfully I have a pill to give the dog that howefully will work better. Anyway at the moment I can't afford to take either 1 or both cats to the vet nor pay for a stool sample to be tested. I'm worried they will get or already have tap worms from the fleas. Should I treat them with medicine just to be safe?

Tapeworms aren't treated with a regular dewormer, so you'd have to get specific tapeworm meds for them.  You might try Revolution to help with fleas and worms (roundworms, hookworms, but not tapeworms).

The sooner you get flea meds on all of your pets the lesser the chance of tapeworm again.

Frontline is not working these days.

The capstar pill is only good for a one day relief, does nothing for eggs/larvae, etc the fleas will just hop right back on after a day.

They have all been given flea meds, the frontline just isn't doing its job. I can't put anything else on them until 4 weeks have past since I used the frontline.

Oh and the pill we have is not capstar, it's a different one.
