We've seen a bunch recently. Return of the King was awesome, we've seen it twice so far and I am sure will see it at least once more. We saw Last Samurai on Friday night, it was breathtaking! These two movies are both Best Picture material.

Then, we saw Cold Mountain last night. Yawn. Didn't like it much. Renee Zellwiger's parts were good, but that was about it. I don't know why it is getting so much hype as a possible Best Picture nominee.

On Xmas day, we saw Peter Pan, which was visually one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. The backdrops could have been Maxfield Parrish paintings. The costumes were great. Not much of a story, but then, there's not much in the book, either.

I haven't been to the movies in quite a while. I would like to see "Mona Lisa Smile". Has anyone seen that? Just wondering if it was any good or not.

I haven't been to the movies since I saw Return of the King. I did see the Russell Crowe movie with him on the ship.....YAWN! What a boring movie. They marketed it as an action and it was a drama. I was looking forward to an action movie.

Was thinking of seeing Cold Mountain on tuesday, but if its boring I'm not in the mood to sit through another one of those.

Maybe I'll check out Stuck On You. Too bad Big Fish isn't playing here yet or I'd go see that.

Haven't watching anything new on DVD yet. I want to see S.W.A.T just for Colin Farrel!

I saw Something's Gotta Give this week. I enjoyed it, but I would call if a chick flick. The guy I went with ended up not liking it, because he was expecting something different than it was.

Also, behind the times a bit, I saw Minority Report on HBO. That I would watch again.

I loved the movie Whale Rider, but then again, I am biased as its loosely based on the area where my tribe comes from.
(even though the movie is tribe neutral)

The only recent movie we've seen is Return of the King, at the theatre. We rent a lot of DVDs, so we're always watching something. This last week we watched Gone in 60 Seconds (Loved it then, and love it still!) and Gremlins- now that was a blast from the past
I hadn't seen it in about 20 years! Still good though

Just got finished reading Mona Lisa Smile. If the book is anything like the movie, it's a very predictable and overtold tale. I won't be seeing it.

I did watch Pirates of the Caribbean this weekend and loved it!! Lots of male eye-candy there.

Also watched a Kevin Spacey/Kate Winslet prision flick and LOVED IT!! Very, very interesting movie about capital punishment.

Karen - that wouldn't be 'The Life of David Gale' would it? That movie was awesome and the ending was a stunner!
