Found out today that not only is my new rescue FeLV positive but my resident other wise healthy cat is FIV positive. (These cats have not met yet). I'm torn as to what to do. I want to keep both of them, do they have to stay separate their whole lives?

No they do not.

As I said in the last thread, get your other cat vaccinated against the felv virus and they can be together.

FIV in a spayed/neutered cat is not a big problem as long as there is no real fighting, it takes a deep blood drawing bite to spread fiv.

So most cats can live together fine if one is pos for fiv and another is not.

FELV is different and your fiv pos cat must be vaccinated for this.

she is getting the vaccine tomorrow and I am hoping miss Meredith tests negative next month for FeLV (since she is only 5 months old). They played under the bedroom door last night. It was sweet :)
