Adult teeth coming in! Baby teeth still there?

I just noticed today that my kitten's adult teeth are starting to come in. She has been teething and I'm excited to see them finally come in, but is what you see in the pictures normal, to your experience? It looks like her baby canine teeth still haven't fallen out and her gums look visibly red and irritated. Should they be falling out on their own eventually, or does it look like she needs them extracted?

I wish I knew the answer. My kittens teeth look like this as well right now. I am assuming the baby teeth will come out since someone told me in another forum not to worry about it.

Hi. This happened to my cats. I thought it was strange too! The baby ones did eventually fall out but I'd keep an eye on them :)

The same thing happened to my kitten last week!   She had her adult teeth and baby teeth growing in together like that, but both her baby canines fell out on the same day.  They should fall out on their own, but just keep an eye on it in case they don't.  Also, kittens can have smelly breath when they teeth. I'm not sure why, but my vet told me that it can cause kittens' breath to have an odor.

Yes, definitely glad I'm not the only one. It was a little scary to look in there and see extra fangs! Her bottom 2 baby teeth fell out on the same day about a week ago while she was playing on my bed. I was expecting the teething, but not for them both to be in there at once. :)

It's pretty usual. Because wild cats eat meat, if they lost their teeth before the new ones came in, it would make it much harder for them to kill their prey and eat, so the new ones tend to come in and the act of them coming in loosens and eventually forces the old teeth out.

I had the same problem with both Simon and Pipsqueak just recently and showed them to the vet, and that's what they said.

Just keep an eye on them. If the baby teeth haven't fallen out within a few days, and don't feel loose to the touch, you may wanna have them checked. If left too long it can cause a malocclusion problem.

One is really loose today. I just wish it didn't appear to be bothering her. I was always a suckered when my son was teething, too. :( I had a lot of orthodontic work and oral surgery in my day. Mouth pain is the worst.

My kitten just lost both of the top canines last week. She is going to be six months on September 17th. She has also lost most of her other teeth and has new ones in. Just my experience. I have heard this is all supposed to happen when they are six months.

Oh, yes, my teething kitty is around 5 1/2 months old.

I don't know if I can continue in the same thread, but does teething cause some hesitancy with eating? Is my kitty even still teething, lol? Her breath isn't so bad anymore.

She hasn't been eating much since yesterday afternoon. She didn't eat at all in the afternoon, and she was more in the mood to eat later at night when I fed her chunks in gravy, and she ate it chunk by chunk from my hand but refused to eat from her bowl. She barely ate this morning, but did the same thing, where she smelled her bowl and licked a bit, and would walk away. Then, be coaxed into eating a quarter of the portion from my hand.  She's clearly hungry and asks to be fed, but then, she takes a lick and walks away. She'll eat freeze dried and dry food treats, but not her wet food. She has been a bit finickier lately, but I'm not sure if this is finickiness? And the thing is, I went to the vet for her last week because I noticed that she was being a bit excessive with her grooming and wandering around her litterboxes, and so, I was concerned about her having a UTI but she checked out fine (and I remember the vet checking her teeth and pressing her abdomen and stuff). So it looks like she's in perfect health...

She looks on the thin side because she never quite filled back out after being starved for her spay surgery a month ago. I hate making a fuss.. if only she was a bit on the fleshy side like my other kitten, I wouldn't be so worry about her having less of an appetite
I'm planning to get some goat's milk for her, give her a raw egg yolk, and may be make her some chicken broth. Should I try KMR or some meal replacer as well? Just to get some calories in her.
