Could this be her in heat?

Yesterday when petting my girl Callie she turned over for a belly rub. I felt something on her belly thinking matted fur or maybe dirt. Then I realized it was her teats. They were raised and pink. I checked my other female her age and she doesn't look or feel like this. She is only four months old. Can going through first heat cause this? She hasn't had any other sign like the late night vocal stuff.

It sounds as though she may be pregnant. Has she been outside? Do you have any intact male cats?

Do you know when she was born?

I don't know exactly when she was born. I was told she was seven weeks old when I got her on May 29th. So I am guessing she was born end of March or first of April.

She did get out one day for an hour tops. I walked outside and seen some neighbor kids with her. I think that was about two weeks ago. She got out as my bf Went to work. Like I said she hasn't showed signs of heat.

I suggest that you take her to be spayed right away. She's much too immature physically to have kittens since she's a kitten herself and still growing. Pregnancy would be too hard on her.

Just because you saw no signs of heat does not mean she wasn't fertile. Unfortunately, cats can be fertile this young!

Humane Societies offer low-cost spaying and neutering if you do not have a private vet.

That sounds great. Your kitten will be much better off spayed - happier and healthier. :)

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way especially if you have a vet appointment planned already but I think stressing the importance of having her seen by a vet may be helpful just so you know the gravity of the situation. I always take things more serious when others share their experiences. It makes it more real for me I guess. One of my fosters got pregnant at 4 months. She gave births 4. 3 survived but the mom stopped producing milk a week after they were born. They became bottle babies. Some moms just won't take care of the babies. Luckily mine did. Another cat I was helping with got pregnant when she was fairly young and she never produced milk. It was a complicated pregnancy. One kitten survived (bottle baby) Another was born and passed away and two more had to be surgically removed a couple days later. It's sad but these things do happen. I can imagine that an extremely young cat in heat may not have all the classic signs.
