I adopted my 5 1/2 yrs old male exotic shorthair called Pan just about 3 yrs ago. The poor cat was used for breeding & he was constantly being bullied by his younger grand-kitties or sons so my family rescued him from the breeder when they felt they had no room for Pan. It took him a long time to warm up to us & even from time to time he gets really emotional and u can tell he's feeling very depressed at the beginning. Then I noticed Pan gets very frighten & scared whenever I'm holding some mails / white envelopes and have a feeling that he's been abused by his previous owner of else I don't know why he would freak out so much when he sees the mails? Its been a long journey to nurture this poor kitty back to shape (he was all wounded by the young kittens when we first took him home)...I am wondering if anyone has experienced to help a rescued cat overcome their fears other than showing lots of love to him? My friends think I'm smothering him with love already but I'm sure every cat lovers would do the same if u know how badly wounded this poor cat was
