I wish I could say good morning, but this morning Monnet became very lifeless so I brought her to the vet. She is very anemic because of fleas and has a sore on her tongue and has a upper respiratory infection. Her chances do not look good at this time.

needless to say, I am a wreck over a kitten that I have only had in my life for a week!

I would appreciate prayers and some advice. When Monnet's mother calls for her, how is the best way to comfort Anna (mom.) I myself know the lost of a child, but I am not a cat. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

The situation your very young kitten is very  hard, but if Monnet passes on to kitty heaven, that was her fate.

She was loved and knew what a fur momma and a human momma felt like, something the sad majority of kittens do not experience.

I hope Monnet pulls through and comes home soon. If she doesn't, momma kitty will be OK in a couple of days. If she calls out for her baby you can comfort her and it'll pass. Also remember that they are very receptive our attitude and mood, so if you're very stressed, Anna will feel just as stressed.

You can also consider looking in your area for some orphan kitties to foster. Maybe that will be Monnet's meaning of existence: to provide an able momma for a lonely kitten (or kittens) that would have no chance another way.

Monnet did not make it. Vet says she was too tiny and weak. Okay, it is so hard to type when you can not see the key board! I have rested Monnet underneath the holly tree I pulled her from. A friend of mine has told me, that God did not bring Anna and Monnet in my life and then take Monnet away to be cruel. He brought them into my life so Monnet would know what human love was. Really does not help. I have only had Monnet about a week, and already miss her meowing so I will go and pick her up. She was so lovable. Dang, this hurts so much.

Anna seems to be doing okay. Any advise on what to look for incase Anna goes into depression? How can I help Anna with the loss of her baby Monnet?

I never thought of fostering another kitten. Hm. What are the chances that Anna would take to another kitten?

How is Anna's health?  was she on her own during her pregnancy and while trying tio nurse the poor babe Monnet?  Is Anna flea free and in good health?  I think fostering another kitten would be a nice thing and might bring a small measure of comfort to Anna, but since you have not had Anna very long, has she been to the vet and gotten a clean bill of health?  Poor thing, she is probably still just a baby herself.

Anna has not been to the vet. I am short on money and was going to wait a week or two before bringing them in. A vet friend of mine gave me some flea med. (topical) for Anna. She too has some sort of upper respiratory cold. I also do not have a cat carrier yet. I am going to go to the Walmart and see how much one costs and see if any one has a extra one that they do not need any more that I can have. Yes, Anna seems very young. She is tiny. Anna eats well, drinks well and poops well. Her eyes are a little leaky from the cold (???). Since I found her under a holly tree I have no idea how old she herself is. I am hoping maybe the vet can guess.

Fostering young kittens is probably not a good idea then, if Anna is sick. She could spread it to any kittens you introduce to her. Better to focus on helping her get well.

I was very upset that God had brought a sweet loving cuddly kitten in my life only to take it away. But then a friend told me that God brought Monnet and Anna into my life so Monnet would know what love was before she passed over the bridge. And I am so happy to know I was able to provide her with that love and cuddling she so was deserving of. I miss her in the morning running up to me when she heard me say good morning and want to be picked up and cuddled.

I concur with the both of you not taking in any kittens until Anna is all set. I did put some flea medication on her last night, but she still needs to go to the vet for shots.

Anna is very small, I am not even sure if she herself is more than a year old. I think it is a miracle that she herself is a live! Now she can live the life that ALL animals should live. A human who loves her and loves her company.

Anna IS very young. I'm sure she'll be very happy with you.

Don't forget to spay her as soon as the doctor says it's fine. This helps her against ailments down the line and against going into heat. It will also help control the quantity of babies that are brought into this world. Remember, when a kitten is born in a house and adopted out into a family, he's taking away the chance for a kitten from the streets.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
