Hi.. Im Jen..my sister in law owns the mother of my cat chu.. I had enough finances to fix mine but her mother is still unspayed.. On july 10th.. She went into heat and nated for 3 days and now hasnt beenin heat since then.. She honestly went in heat 2 times every month before this so its odd. Shs about 6 or 7. Do you think she is most likely pregnant. Shes a very small cat too so not sure how to know for sure if shes pregnant.. Cant afford vet confirmation so need advice on how to know for sure.

If she is pregnant she will give birth around Sept 13, using 65 day average pregnancy.

Is the mother 6 or 7 years old?  that is too old to have a litter.

Here is an article  that may help - there are more at the top of this forum.

I think shes 6 and this would have been her 3rd litter.. Should i tell my sister in law to keep an eye out for complcations? She cant afford the needed cat care necessary for proper care for tgis type of thing.

She could spay/abort the litter and not have to worry about pregnancy anymore.  Not sure how she would feel about that, but it is an option.

She cant afford much of anything except for food and litter for her cat.. I would help her but I have two daughters and a cat of my own I need to take care of.

Yes, she needs to watch for complications, and someone needs to pay for her cat to be spayed after this litter. This is not a good situation.

Do you have a low-cost clinic around? The Humane Society is very cheap.

Are there any low cost clinics in the area?  Or a rescue or shelter who could help?   We've had a few older cats give birth and it doesn't seem to end well.  I have a feeling she will wind up at a vet sooner or later.

Shes a very small cat too so all i was told is she mated for 3 days on and off so not even sure how many kittens could be in her. I want to help her and i have before for other vet costs but not exactly a rich person. What kind of complications could happen?

Infection, unproductive labor, stillbirths, or none at all.

A low-cost spay is the best alternative.

If she has complications and needs a c-section it will cost hundreds.

Is your sister-in -law sure she's pregnant, The nipples should have become pinker and more prominent around day 21 about August 1st.

I checked her and they do seem more prominent and they are pinker.. Shes eating and sleeping more and does look rounder. Its good to have a date to keep an eye out for labour. Ill try to save up in case of complications.. Guess i will be having an iou from my sister in law.

You are very kind to help her and her cat.

Let's hope all goes smoothly and there are no complications.

BAM! There ya go. 80ish bucks.

If that doesn't work here is a whole list...

https://www.google.com/webhp?source...n=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=low cost neuter toronto

I don't understand how she knows the cat mated multiple times over 3 days and just let that happen knowing how old the cat is and that she cannot afford care. She is going to have to vaccinate and deworm all the kittens multiple times, that could be hundreds right there. Plus having the mother tested for FIV/FeLV bc who know what intact male she mated with and what diseases he was carrying plus the risk of giving away infected kittens to new owners who might infect other cats in their new homes...

The RIGHT thing to do is pay the under $100 fee at a low cost clinic and fix the poor thing now. There might even be cheaper or free options. I only did a quick google search.

Good luck.
