Where (in that article) does it say you can't feed chicken? (but is that a big deal anyway?)   And also, I don't see anywhere where it lists any health risks
.  Granted, I did NOT read the 200 responses to the article...that might take all day
.

My theory is this.  If you have a cat with the exact health issues as the cat in this article, and so far nothing has helped, then why NOT try this.   IMHO, your cat's health is already at risk, so if these products can help, then give it a shot.

I contacted the company who makes the products and they told me this. Also reading reviews one said the cat developed kidney stones when before it was healthy and after seeing a vet could not figure out why the cat had this other than what this formula had in it and it was concluded it caused the health issue the cat never had before. I saw that and freaked out.

I know at one time there were a couple of people that were using this but apparently they aren't here anymore.  Just a guess but I am thinking the recommendation to not feed chicken is because it is so common in kitty food.  They are directing people towards a novel protein.  Chicken is a common issue with IBD and food allergies, not because there is something that is an inherent issue with chicken but because it is a common large part of the diet.

Diet changes could have also caused the kidney stones in one of the kitties.  The change could've changed urine pH and that could've been the cause rather than the supplements themselves.  I would think that if it were the supplement causing it then it would be a much more widespread issue with kitties that are taking these supplements.
