I just bought a kitten from the spca 3 days ago, and I don’t know if he is eating enough.. I give him 1 teaspoon of wet food with a little bit of dry food mixed with it, 3 times a day but most of the time I have to throw it away because he don’t eat it all. I am kind of getting worried because I was reading about that subject and everyone seems to say that a kitten should eat more than a grown up cat so i was wondering if anybody knows what i could do.. thank you !

You could try offering the wet and dry separately. It's not a great idea to mix them together anyway - side by side is better. Kittens have small stomachs and small appetites - little and often is the way to go.

Remember that kittens will eat more for their size than adults, but I wouldn't expect a small kitten to eat more than an adult cat. It's a question of cals per pound, not overall volume.

At 12 weeks he's old enough to eat kibble as it is. I think the idea of mixing with the wet is to ensure a gradual introduction to kibble as it's a very different kind of food, and young tummies need to get used to it slowly.

yup that's what im doin :) and right now i am giving him a teaspoon of wet food and a little bit of dry food in another bowl , 3 times a day, do you think it's enough? Cause he always go for the wet food first and he only goes back for the dry one about an hour after that.
