I visited my friend's two frenchie puppies last night and their excitement upon first seeing me threw me WAY off. They were so jumpy and lick-y! And in their excitement mode, every time that I would go down to pet them, they would lick my hand and I'd get this weird tickly tingly feeling in my mouth. It was incredibly weird. Has any one ever experienced that??

Once they calmed down, I felt more comfortable and even laid with them as they slept on me. That part I loved since I don't get to do that with Ming who isn't very cuddly.

I think at that moment, I truly realized that I'm a cat person and maybe that's how cats feel when excited people come and rub them all over. Haha!! Dogs are GREAT but they're too much excitement for me! One time, I was visiting another friend for the first time and his huge lab basically tackled me from behind in an attempt to sniff my butt and give me kisses.
(I wasn't hurt and it was all in good fun!)

:lol3: Not ALL dogs are so hyper and full on! My greyhound just comes and leans his head on me...asking for and ear rub. We've always thought he's part cat though - he even does his best to 'purr'!

Awwwwww! And he purrs!
I've heard how gentle greyhounds can be and it's so funny since they are HUGE! If I ever get a dog, I'd really want a huge gigantic dog like the greyhound or chow chow.

I grew up with a pair of boxers who used to great everyone who came to the front door by leaping up and swiping their drooling tongues across the face of poor unsuspecting visitors. I think we may have turned a few people off dogs permanently!
