I'm calling the vet in the morning, but I'm trying to get my head around what's happening to my cat charlie. I found a kitten at work and brought him home. Stupidly, I didn't isolate the kitten because they were getting along pretty well. About 3 days ago, charlie did a 180. He isn't social anymore, hisses at everyone and the kitten, he's lethargic, barely comes out of the bedroom, barely ears, drinks, or goes to the bathroom. How high is the chance that he could have something serious? And what can I do to make him feel better until his appointment? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I think your first step should be to take Charlie to the vet.

Put his food in the bedroom and seperat him from the kitten completely.

If this gets worse take the kitten to a shelter cause if Charlie does not eat his food cause of the kitten he might get liver disease or something even worse.

I personally would put the kitten in another room totally separate from Charlie with the door closed like a bathroom or mudroom.  Charlie should be taken to the vet for a total check up to make sure that everything physically is ok with him, hopefully this is just caused by him being so upset by the kitten.  Cats are such odd creatures (and I say that with the greatest respect). sometimes if you upset their world they just have a terrible time adjusting for awhile.  Making Charlie feel safe, secure and loved could be all he really needs in the long run....but I would slowly introduce the both of them again after they both receive a clean bill of health from your vet.  Good luck.

Yes, separate Charlie from the kitten and try to spend time with him and comfort him, if he'll allow it. Try to tempt him to eat - if not his regular food, offer treats or baby food  meat or plain cooked meat, canned fish, anything he likes. He could be sick or he might just be very stressed out by the new kitten invading his home. Either way, if he doesn't eat he could develop fatty liver disease, which is very serious.
