Hi I am a new cat owner. Recently my god father found a day or two day old kitten at his warehouse. The mother was missing and hasn't showed up since. He gave it to me to take care of. The kitten is currently around eight or almost nine weeks old. I have been taking care of the kitten since he found it. I am having some issues with the kitten that I'm not sure how to solve.

-It likes to bite and scratch a lot. I have tried the method where you meow loudly like a mother cat would and pull away and that has not worked.

-Second it sometimes likes to poop outside the litterbox. It does this randomly. One morning it will go in the litterbox happily, couple of hours later it will go on the floor.

-It won't eat solid cat food. It will drink milk, and the second step that you use to transition them over to dry cat food. But it will not eat solid food. I can place some into it's most and it will eat it and probably enjoy it  but it will not eat solid food by itself. My mom told me once that she came in and that the kitten was eating solid food placed for her. But I have never seen her eat solid food by herself. My parents want me to just not feed her anything but just leave a tray of solid food there and that eventually she will eat it. That feels kind of cruel though. I feed her a piece of turkey ham today (first piece ever) and she ate it right up. So I'm not sure how to proceed.

-Her poop is never solid, it is always really smelly and liquidy.

-She smells too even though I give her baths and use scented kitty wipes for her fur.

-She is also very skittish around people and acts differently if others are around.

-She likes to run around in circles and never stops staring at me. NEVER.

-I recently tried to socialize her with other kittens. This was the first time she ever met another feline. She met several other kittens and was really aggressive and all the kittens were scared of her. She also met adult cats and scared them off too.

-I fear that she is obese. She is a bit chubby and tends to waddle slightly when she walks.

-She plays weird games with me, like tag. She will run straight towards my foot/ ankle tap it then run away to a certain location then do it all over again.

-She attacked my mom once.

Honestly I've never had a cat, and I've always considered myself a dog person. I love my kitten to death but I want her to grow up right with me as her mom. I don't know if any of this is normal but I hope you all can give solutions and help me figure this out.

Wow!  It's amazing you have raised this kitten from day one.  She is still young and learning.

Mom cat usually teaches kitten manners and that will fall on you.  Some other ways to stop her is to hiss at her or yell ouch loudly when she bites or scratches.  Since she doesn't have another kitten to play with she doesn't realize she is hurting you.

Try mixing her wet food with the KMR so it is a little mushy.  You can give her a small dish of the KMR as well.  She is still young enough to benefit from it.  A kitten this young cannot be overweight.  She may get pudgy before a growth spurt, but don't restrict her food intake.  Some days she will eat twice as much as normal.

Does she groom herself?  You shouldn't need to give her baths.  Try using a damp cloth and rubbing her the way a cat grooms itself so she learns how to do it herself

As far as the smelly poop goes - has she been wormed?  You can try changing the food you are giving her.  This can effect the odors.  You can also try mixing some canned pumpkin - not the pie filling - into her food.  It will help with the diarrhea.

Here is a link you might enjoy reading.  It will also give you some ideas.
