My Turbo is about 2 and a few days ago I noticed he was moping around. Did not think anything of it because he does that sometimes. Today I noticed his hips and spine are sticking out because of weight loss. He won't eat or drink. I've tried to force him kitten formula, water, wet food and Pedialyte. When you pick him up he meows as if he's in pain. He is breathing a big deeper and faster. His breathing sounds like he is wheezing. It's about 11pm so no vets are open. I plan to take him tomorrow. I am terrified as to what they will say. Also, the 4 other cats are fine.

Also, he is very dehydrated because I pulled up the skin on his back and it stuck for a few seconds. After giving him some fluids he seemed to feel a little bit better but still not 100%. His gums are very light pink and his ears are a little bit cold.

I'm so sorry your kitty is sick. Do you have a 24 hr. vet hospital you could take him to? I would just try to keep him quiet and hydrated until you can get him to the vet. I wouldn't pick him up unless you have to. Keep us posted on how he is doing please. I'll pray for your little boy.

We do but it's outrageously priced and I haven't worked much lately due to being sick. Thank you for praying. I've been in tears all evening because I'm scared they'll tell me the worst. Out of all 5 cats he's my baby boy.

I'm so sorry - I know how stressful of a situation you're in, not knowing what's wrong or just how bad it really is - sounds like you're doing good keeping him hydrated.   If you happen to have tuna on hand, you can see if he will drink the tuna water, they usually love that.   Or if you have canned food, mix the juice from the can with some water to give it some good flavor.   If you have a 24-hr emergency vet, and if you have the $$ to get him seen tonight, I would go now - not to scare you and create even more tension - but I would be really concerned about the cat's symptoms (not saying you aren't concerned - you obviously are worried) and try to get him in somewhere tonight if at all possible.  Otherwise, just keep doing what you can to get fluids into him.   I hope everything will be OK, good vibes your boy

edit: oops, we posted at the same time!  Believe me, I understand how $$ those 24 hour clinics are - the one around here is like $60 just to get in the door to be seen, plus whatever tests, x-rays, whatever else needs to be done.  You're doing the best you can, and I'm sure just your presence alone is a huge comfort to your kitty.

Thank you guys. We got him some wet food, the kind that looks like shredded chicken. He only ate some when I put it in his mouth. Earlier today he was laying on the floor with his nose touching the floor, which isn't abnormal for him. But now he's laying on the bed and won't lay his head down. I tried to lay him. On his side to see if he was more comfortable but he rolled back up and his arms are out in from of him and he's trying to sleep.

Glad to hear he ate a little. Keeping him lifted up in prayer. I know the animal hospitals cost a fortune. Sounds like you're doing just fine keeping him hydrated and quiet. Please let us know how his vet appt. goes tomorrow.

I was there for about 2 hours today. They said it could be a number if things. I had a $100 limit so there wasn't a whole lot they could do. They gave him clavamox to see if it's an infection just until I can get the money for them to run tests and do x-rays.

He's finally not trying to spit out the food I give him but not willjng yet to eat by himself or out of my hand. I have to put it in his mouth before he will eat. Lots of Pedialyte. He took a nap for a while and when he woke up he seemed better. He's purring and licking himself which is a good sign and the life is coming back to his eyes. I'm hoping whatever it is, the clavamox will cure it. His breathing doesn't seem as short and shallow. I compared to my other cats and he seems to be doing good. My female gas been caring for him too. And I'm sure the cuddles from her and I are helping too. Thank you for the prayers. Hopefully he will start gaining his weight back now.

That's great news - I'm happy to hear he's turning a corner here and is doing better!   I hope he keeps doing better until you can get him into your vet!   I know it's hard on you when you have a sick pet - I know you are relieved to see any improvement, I'm happy for you

I have great news the morning! I just woke up and Turbo had the strength enough to jump up on the bed. Walked up acting his normal self, rubbing against me wanting cuddles. He started nursing on his blanket which he wasn't doing before. I got out the wet food and I didn't even. Have to feed it to him. He went to town on it. Thank you to the ones who prayed for him!

Aw that's wonderful!  I'm so relieved to hear he's doing better!  Maybe he just had a little stomach bug that the Clavamox helped to clear up.   That's great news he's got his appetite back, it's an excellent sign!!

It's so scary when our pets get sick - you never know if it's just a little bug that will pass in a couple days, or if it's a life or death emergency - it is so stressful and draining!    Right now, I've got a sick stray tomcat housed in the basement that I've been nursing back to health the past couple days - he's not even really my cat but it's been so emotionally taxing taking care of him and worrying about him.   I can't imagine how worried and sick I would be if one of our own indoor pet cats that I've had from the beginning (witnessed their birth!) had a serious illness...........anyways - it sounds like you did a great job taking care of him and how exciting he seems to be on the road to recovery!  I remember when I was a kid, after I had been sick, I was always famished and just ate like a little piggy for a couple days and sounds like your guy is feeling the same way

Yes, hopefully something small. He's been eating about every half hour now and has been super cuddly. Whether it's your cat or not, it's hard to see an animal suffer. It's so good of you to get him healthy again. Animals are so. Much more grateful than humans.
