Hi I'm new to this site, but I have been reading post on here for awhile. My cat Luna is pregnant and i think she is due anywhere around the 31rst to the 9th I think. she got out once on the 27th of June and for only about 4 to 5 hours before i woke up and noticed her missing. I got her from a neighbor that didn't want her because she kept escaping to my house. She is a very nice cat and loveable. I do think she got with a white tom that roams around that belongs to a neighbor so I'm pretty anxious to see what her kittens will look like because she is a mostly white calico cat. Also she is pretty small for being pregnant I think so I do think she only has a couple in there and I can feel one on the left side. Sometimes she looks big and then sometimes not. Her nipples are pretty big though that was the first indication i saw that she was pregnant.

I have made her several nest in one of my rooms at the back of the house and she does like them. Also I put her litter box and food and water in the room so she gets use to the area. I really hope that she has them in there.

By the way this site is great. The people on here seem pretty friendly. I have been on other sites reading and the people seem kinda moody. haha :)

I would put a picture of her, but for some reason it wont let me. I'll try in a couple days maybe.

If you remember what day her nipples changed, that happens on day 21.

Sometimes the pictures are held for a moderator to check.  Then they appear.

Do you have supplies ready for the birth?

I don't remember what day her nipples changed, but i just remember that she got out on the 27th of June. It was the first and only time she got out. I also made sure to check the date just in case she did get pregnant. I have supplies i just need kitten formula. That might not be the easiest thing to get the only kind i have seen is the heartz brand at walmart and kmart I need to check the pet stores. Can i also use goats milk if i can't get kmr?

here are some pictures of her. Lunas stomach doesn't show much, but i promise she is pregnant:

She also isn't that big of a cat her previous name was mini, but I changed it when I got her.

You can order KMR on-line through Amazon or pet stores.  We've been recommending Pet Ag Stage 1 powder formula.

You can use goats milk as well.

Looks like she isn't 'due' until the end of the month if we use the average of 65 days.

I'll have to check the pet stores. The pet stores here ( I live in Puerto Rico) they aren't the greatest at least in my city. I can't even find sheep pellet food they think it is just okay to feed them goat pellet food which will make the sheep sick. But I will check the pet stores first. I have a neutered male and the two of them love to play with each other is it okay for them to play fight while she is pregnant?

Another question I read that you are suppose to take the dirty bedding out after she gives birth, but I'm just wondering how soon do i do that and the best way to do it without stressing the mom and babies or if it is even possible to not stress them out.

Your cat is just beautiful! I hope you will have her spayed when her kittens wean.

You have been well advised to get PetAg KMR on hand or frozen goat's milk in advance of her delivery. The mama can drink these milks too for her good health. Please go ahead and acquire this and a 1-2 mL syringe.

Your Cat is in her 7th week come Sunday. She has 2-3 weeks left. Please set up nests for her in the meantime. If you look under Articles and pregnant cats, we have many links you can read to prepare.

Let us know your questions! :)

Cats love plain boiled chicken. No spices. The protein is good for her.

She likes ground turkey, tuna, and chef boyardee spaghetti style. i don't give her a can of boyardee i just let her eat some noodles and lick a little sauce just a couple bites. she finds the smell of green olives and bleach exciting. I think I will post some new pictures tonight she is getting a bigger belly.

She does not need to sniff bleach! That's an odd smell to be attracted to.

haha no i don't give her bleach to smell. I had to use bleach on my balcony yesterday because i was cutting up the chicken and wrapping it up out there because i don't have counter space and blood got on the balcony so i used some bleach to wash it off and i guess i had the smell on my hand and she went crazy over it. she just kept biting my hand and rubbing her face all over it. and then today i had some green olives as a snack and she did the same thing today. im not sure why really. i do know the previous owner would put bleach on her because she thought it would take flees away which i don't agree on doing but she was not my cat at the time. she has had a bath when i first got her so any bleach that was on her should be gone now.

any way here are some updated pictures just taken tonight:

when she is laying down you would think she was just fat but when she is standing up her belly is out. i can feel one kitten on each side of her. its so exciting i wish it was the 9th week already. Is it common for them to have the babies during the 8th week or will she stay like this a little after the 9th week? Is it okay for her if she has them in the middle of the 8th week?

She should remain pregnant through her ninth week. Many cats go into the 10th week. Nine full weeks is 63 days. The average feline pregnancy is 65 days. Premature kittens do not usually survive. Every day counts!

She's a very pretty cat!

i found a worm on lunas butt last night. i gave her dewormer when i got her before i found out she was pregnant, but i guess it didn't take them all away. how soon after she has the kittens can i give her dewormer medicine?

Luna is becoming a lot more affectionate. I'm loving it.
