My precious kitty, Willow, has had chronic loose stool since I got her (April this year). She is a Ragdoll, almost 7 months old and has been spayed.
Although she was 'pooping normally' when we got her (according to the breeder), she has always had large, smelly outputs 2-4 times a day. My vet and I worked through some usual suspects (worming, sensitive diet etc) before fecal testing started. A fecal float revealed negative results, but a PCR revealed clostridium perfringens.
He has prescribed Tylan which he warned was not pleasant for Willow, and may cause foaming etc. well after her first dose, while there has been no foaming, it's not pleasant for her and I am looking for some ways to mask it.
I know that some people use empty gel caps - I looked at the local chemist and there wasn't any. Is there any other ideas I can get here in Australia?
Thanks!
