My cat has diarrhea!!!

My cat, Mitu had diarrhea. He started a bit last night and the. The pooped today 3 times. Each time was just a bit, but it was very loose. He ate today before he started having it but he is yet to ask for food. I also know that I should keep food from him for 12/24 hours. Is there anything else I should do? Is this an emergency, should I go to the vet with him or keep an eye on him?
I really don't know why he is having diarrhea...I did give him some tuna cat food that he usually doesn't get. I tough it might be the dry food, but they doesn't specify on the bag that they changed formula. I don't know.
Other then that he is acting normal, he played with me.
Anything that I should maybe give him to help with this?

It could have been the tuna if it's something new to him. I personally wouldn't withhold food from him just yet. You can try canned pumpkin (not pie filling) ingredients should list pumpkin only. Give him his regular food and see if he is clearing up or if increasing in volume and frequency. If it gets worse contact your vet. You could call the vet anyway for their advise to be on the safe side anyway.

Yes, thats what Im thinking too, although not sure. He didn't ate much since afternoon. At 1am he woke up and went to the bathroom again. He drinked just a bit of water and ate a bit of pumpkin. I watching him right now and see if he will poop again.
