hi everyone.
I need help. There has been a cat outside my house for over a week now. It just now started letting me pet it. It has a bulge in its stomach so I am worried it might be pregnant. But maybe just fat? Can someone help me see if this is a neutered male or a female?

I believe you may have a pregnant female. Are you feeding her?

Can you take a picture of her where we can see her sides?

Yes I have been feeding her. I noticed she is living under my neighbors house. I've tried taking photos of her sides but she won't hold still long enough. These are the best I have.

I want to bring her in but I have a problem.
I only have 1 spare bedroom and we recently rescued another pregnant cat (there is tons of strays where we live. I have been fixing them but people keep dropping more off)
So anyways, I have a cat who just had newborn kittens 6 days ago. They are in my spare room. I have no other animals.
But not sure how I would bring in another. Should I block one off completely In the spare room and let the other have the house?
Should I try the no kill shelter or the vets office? Not sure which would be best

She's pregnant.

Yes, bring her in and let her have the house for now.

Then you'll switch eventually and put her and her kittens in the spare and let the other mama and babies into the house depending on when she's due and when the other kittens are weaning.

You are very kind to care for these strays. Do you plan to spay both mamas eventually? What are your plans for the kittens?

We'll be here to support your efforts! :)

Yes definitely getting them fixed. Then will keep the mommy cats and try and find homes for kittens. I've never done this before. What should I look for when adopting out the kittens?

I think it's great you are already thinking about the best way to re-home the kittens into safe homes :).

Since they are only six days old and it's late here, I will continue this discussion with you over the weekend if you don't mind. This is a very important topic and needs to be covered properly!

Definitely VERY pregnant! Agreed that you get her in ASAP! Glad @sarthur2 is going to advise you! Agreed - it's late - and lots of us can offer advice once you get her in. You're doing such a great thing for both mammas-and their babies!!

Oh yes that would be fine!! I've never had animals growing up so this is all new to me. The kittens have seen the vet and she said the mama and kittens are healthy and helped me with that.
I'll schedule an appointment for the new mama cat as well.
But any other advice would be much appreciated! Here are some cute kitty photos

They were weighed at the vets but I haven't weighed them myself. Should I be doing that? What should I get to weigh them with?
