Taurine not sourced from China?

Anyone know any good brands of Taurine?

I was going to buy this bottle from Now foods, but in the questions section, a person said they contacted the company and they said they source taurine from china.

I dont want to risk giving my cat anything from there, its one of the reasons im getting away from commercial cat food so i can have more control over whats in their food.

In theory it is possible to source taurine in Japan and maybe elsewhere.  In practice it's going to be difficult to find out where it comes from unless you contact many of those companies packaging the taurine.

I think Now Foods generally is a pretty good quality product, but I'm not really surprised the taurine is from China even for them.  It takes quite an effort to source it elsewhere.  FWIW a couple years ago I bought and used the Now Foods powder anyway with my ailing cat.  But I understand not wanting to feed items sourced from China.

Taurine is the most difficult one as I understand it.
