I only have traditional pierced ears.  I am 59 so the whole thing with tattoos, especially for women was after me.  I knew a couple of girls who got a small flower tattoo but that was pretty much it.  Even for the men of my generation it was mainly men who had been in the Navy that had tattoos.  They had some really intricate ones that they got while stationed in Southeast Asia.  I was in the Army but Army guys didn't get into the tattoos the way Navy guys did.

I have my ears pierced.  One hole in each ear.  I've debated on and off getting second holes put in because I have some nice stud style earrings that never get worn.  I feel like I look weird without a small hoop or something in.

Just pierced ears.

I've considered tattoos but haven'e found an artist which makes me break down and get one.  Probably never will.

Pierced ears - 3 in each, but I only ever use the first ones now. I've thought about tattoos, but have never been able to settle on a design. Also, I'm both needle-phobic and don't heal well, so that puts me off a bit.

I have my ears pierced. I had 4 in each, I have no idea how many are still open but last time I tried they all were. I have 2 tattoos, a memorial for my dad and the leo symbol. I'm planning a new one and hoping to get it soon. I'm getting both of my kids newborn footprints with their names.

My ears are pierced twice but I think the second holes in each closed up years ago. I rarely wear earrings.

I have 4 tattoos.  a purplish/magentaish rose on my left shoulderblade that I got when I was 19, a black panther on my right hip that I got when I was 22 ( I've always had a thing for black cats!), a bad of purple roses around my left ankle that have little skull faces in them that you have to look closely to see that I got when I was 26 and the most recent one- a black bear sitting in front of a pine tree watching the world go by on my left forearm. This is a memorial piece to my late DH. I called him Bear so it's kind of like a portrait that isn't a portrait to anyone but me. Anyone else who sees it just thinks I like bears (and they'd be correct- they'd just get half the story unless I told them the rest). It's also the only one I have a picture of. Taken right after I got it in January 2012.

I've got 6 holes in each ear, a conch piercing at the top and then five in each lobe but I only have rings through the top conch piercing and the bottom three lobe piercings now. I had a labret piercing and a deviated septum but I haven't worn anything through them for about 15 years now. I came to Japan and had to get a proper job so too much hardware in my face wasn't a good idea. They've healed over so well you can barely see the holes now.

I have two small tattoos that I got while in the UK, one on my ankle and one on my stomach. I also have a big tattoo on my back that I got here in Japan. It goes from my shoulder down to my butt.

I love my tattoos, if ever I have some spare cash I want to get more.

I think your body is the only thing you ever really own, so customize it and pretty it up all you like.

yes, i have both tattoos and piercings. i've had many piercings, but only have rings in 5 of them these days. many of them remain open, some of which had been stretched. among the jobs i've had, i was a professional piercer in a very well known piercing shop in LA. i have quite a few tattoos, and many of them are large or very large.

I have 5 holes in my ears. 3 & 2.
I have seven tattoos. One for each grandchild. I got the first when I was 55! And the last at age 70.
I have dumbo. 3 cats. A little dog. A unicorn and a little elephant holding a balloon shaped like a heart. That was designed by my 26 year old granddaughter for her year old sister. I've got to the age now, 71 on Tuesday, where I'm sorry I did them. Hey Ho.

When I was younger and even more foolish than I am now (that's hard to believe), I went through a punk rock phase, and put extra ear lobe holes in--using a large safety pin, and I'd wear the pin as an earring. It doesn't hurt, but they do get infected. Don't try this at home, kids!

I now only have one piercing in each lobe. Mom wouldn't let me get my ears pierced: "If God intended you to have holes in your ears, you'd be born with them." I always wanted to say to her," Well, about about that glass of wine you always have in your hand?"--but never did! I sneaked into my room, and pierced my own ears with a safety pin, just to be rebellious.

I've always wanted a tattoo, but I have hyper-sensitive skin. I'm also afraid I'll tire of the tattoo. I'd love to have something that incorporates a black jaguar cat and hummingbirds (the jag is my favorite wild cat, and the hummingbirds are in honor of my mother, who died a few years ago. However, she disapproved of tattoos,l even on my brothers, so she wouldn't like that!).

I was the first one of my siblings to get a tattoo. I was still living at home. I never discussed it (or tattoos in general) with my parents because quite frankly I really couldn't care less what they thought. It was my body and my money (I've had a job since age 14) and I could do what I wanted with it. My mom wasn't thrilled but she thought it was pretty. I will never forget when dad found out about it though. I was up in my room and he came barreling up the stairs, threw the door open and bellowed "DO YOU HAVE A TATTOO??" at me. I just said "Yes". He said "Oh. What does it look like?"It was on my shoulder blade, I showed it to him and he said OK and left the room. All that fanfare for nothing. Tattoos are great for getting over a needle phobia that's for sure.

My BFF has probably a dozen or more; including some large pieces, and she still gets nervous before medical procedures involving needles.
She said the nurses were joking with her about it before one of her procedures. (She is a 2 time cancer survivor.)  But yeah; she still gets very nervous.
