@artyjill I've heard that with indoor cats that get out for the first time there is a five day threshold. Five days is how long it takes for them to get hungry enough to come out of their hiding place and start trying to find food. If you don't have a trail camera and there aren't a lot of other cats in your neighbourhood you could try this: Get a largish cardboard box, lie it on it's side and put some of her favourite food in a dish in there. Put some double sided sticky tape all around the open mouth of the box. What ever goes in there to eat will leave some fur stuck to the tape, so you will at least be able to see if a cat the same colour as yours came to eat.
She's probably not that far from home. She'll look for some thick bushes to hide in or a shed or woodpile that she can get under. Put a couple of these cardboard boxes with tape and food out near any likely looking spot and leave them over night. Them smell of the food should draw her out to eat.
Good luck. I know how hard this is for you, just don't give up.
