I forgot to put them in this morning first thing as usual, and then the phone rang. A female voice asked me if I was the owner of my house, and my alarm bells rang. I asked what she was selling, and she said nothing, but that I was eligible for a free check for serpents! At least, that is what I thought she said. I gave an involuntary exclamation, and said I had never heard of a snake problem in our area. Her turn to exclaim. So when we had cleared up the confusion, what she was offering was a check of the roof beams (charpente), not snakes (serpents). I bet she had a good laugh at my expense when she hung up.

:lol3: I wish my husband would get a call like that - it might convince him that he really does need a hearing aid.

I have only had my aids for a month, but they have made a huge difference in my life in all sorts of ways. From hearing birdsong, breaking up catfights much earlier, to actually watching TV drama again because the dialogue makes sense, it has been fantastic. And my friends and family think so too - I am actually aware of them talking to me!

   Ditto with my beloved hubby.

That's great!  I imagine it will be like with eyeglasses--after awhile it will be second nature to put them on in the morning.
