Hello everyone. I am living in Azerbaijan and here on animal stores you can find only 2-4 brands.  Cheap option are Whiskey , Purina, KItekat and last one Royal Canin. Everyone here especially vet are suggest to buy  Royal Canin brand. But when I look internet I found out there alot of negative feedback about this brand. So what do you think? Which brand food you feed your cat?

Thanks

Hello , Welcome to TheCatSite ..

I have no idea what foods are available in your country but out of the foods you listed  I would pick Royal Canin though I am not sure if the ingredients are the same as the RC in the US ..

Can you be a little more specific about the foods you're able to find? Are you looking at wet or dry food or a mixture, and exactly which versions of each are available. All the brands you mention have different ranges, and its hard to advise without having more information. You might find these articles useful:[article="29707"][/article][article="31127"][/article][article="0"][/article][article="32669"][/article][article="31144"][/article]

In general, look for foods where meat is the first ingredient, and go for grain free if at all possible. Pate style foods are more likely to be grain free than foods 'in gravy' or 'in sauce'. Do keep in mind, though, that the best food is the food your cat is happy to eat. The best food in the world is useless unless it gets inside the cat! ;)

Hope this helps :)

You can find all brand that I mentioned before wet or dry food. My kitten 2 month old. At the moment I feed my cat with Royal Canin Growth series. I have dry and wet foods on small package. Today in local market I saw Purine Frieskies wet food for baby. I bought for kitten to have mouth taste change a little.

Here is photo of products.

They're all perfectly good foods. I've just spent some time looking over the ingredients. To be honest, my first choice would be the Whiskas Kitten pouches - but NOT the ones in gravy. I say that simply because the meat content is higher than in any of the others that I could find, and they have the shortest ingredients list. Don't worry though - all the foods you've mentioned will give your kitten everything he needs.

For adult food, my first choice would be the Friskies Fancy Feast Classics Pates. They come in little cans, but are still pretty reasonable in price.

There's nothing that jumps out at me in the ingredients that would cause that. It's possible he has a slight issue with a protein, but as neither brand states which meat proteins they use its impossible to tell.

All I can suggest is that if he continues to act oddly on the Friskies (as opposed to just having some normal kitten crazy time), then stop feeding it and see if it helps.

Maybe your cat just really likes the Friskies and got excited!
I think it's great that you're giving your kitten a variety of foods so he can get used to different flavors. I agree with Columbine that generally the foods with the most meat are the best.

I don't know what city you live in but I also wanted to say hello because I visited Baku several times during the 1997-98 and loved the city.
