How long after loosing the mucus plug does a cat usually go before labour?

I am truly puzzled that your cat was dilated 10 days ago, and appeared to have lost her mucus plug, and there are no kittens yet. I am a bit concerned about this, so I'm glad you have been to the vet with her and have a 12-hour window.

At that point will they be doing a c-section, or will they first try to induce her with oxytocin?

An ultrasound would show if the kittens are still alive. Please keep us posted!

They was going to do a ultrasound but the ultrasound was being used they said we could wait for it to become free back in the waiting room but the lady from the rspca who ran me down there had a few home visits to make so we didn't have time to wait we had already waited 25 min for her to go in, I shown the new vet on Monday the pictures I posted on here of the discharge and she said it dosnt look like that was the mucus plug, yet the first vet I took her too a few week ago said the first lot of discharge she had was her mucus plug?!? The new vet also said she does look open down there but said this can happen especially in cats thats had a good few litters this will be peppa's 3rd litter in 2 years so she thinks it could be due to her muscles not being as tight as they should be as she has litrally had liter after liter.. she had a ultrasound the first time I took her to the vets, this was a completly diffrent surgery. Vet also said that if she was overdue she would be very poorly in her self and we would know there was somthing wrong, she said the other vet had evidently dated her wrong, very flustrating that I'm still no closer to find out when she will have them, and yes she said that if she her temp is dropped for more than 12 hrs with no active pushing or kittens in that time then she has to go straight in and they Will do what's nessasery so I'm presuming that means a c section? Also if she is pushing for along time with no kittens I have to take her in asap, she thinks it will be soon due to her size! she is still fidgeting all the time and trying her hardest to get in to the smallest places possible in the room she is in, lucky she has no were to go that's not easily accessible for me to get to her.

The mucus plug itself doesn't say much really. I know of people who found it 2 weeks before giving birth, to several hours before. I myself had a first litter with one of my girls who lost her mucus plug (Which looked simular to yours btw) 5 days before. So it's no big deal, I wouldn't worry about it too much. As your vet said, if something is really wrong, you will know.

She seems ready to pop tho, she's HUGE! Lots of luck to you, I hope everything will go well and the kittens and mom will be healthy and happy <3

Well iv taken her temp today and it's 37.4°c (99.32°F) this is a really good sign according to the vet lol labour and delivery should be in the next 24 hrs, if she dosnt start in active labour after 12 hrs of her temp drop then I have to take her to the vet.. eek I'm so exited let's hope this is the start of it.. atm she's showing no outward signs of labour she's just sat here with me munching on a chew and puuring away :) ill keep yous updated any progress and changes x

It seems to me if she birthed two healthy litters before that she should have little trouble doing it once more.

Hopefully it all goes well!

This has followed the clear mucus, she has been trying to lick down there but couldn't reach so I wiped it away for her and she squeezed her self in to my son's small pop up draw in his cabanet ,

It sounds like things are going well. Can you put her in a nest in a closet instead of a drawer?

If possible, try making the drawers a place for her to give birth in? Cats pick their own spots, and if the place you made isn't to her liking, you shouldn't force her into it. It's best to have multiple spaces set up before labor, so she can eventually pick what she likes best herself.

Good luck, I hope to see some cute kittenpictures soon!

im not to sure about browny liquid can you see a bubble or anything belonging to a kitten like a tail ?? how long has she been straining and crying ?? if its been a while i would serious consider phoning the vet

Missy didn't really have any discharge before the first kitten but there was blood afterwards both times she has had litters but i know different cats birth differently so it could be normal  i have only ever been around Missy giving birth so sorry cannot be much more help. but if you are worried i would give the vets a quick call information cost nothing over the phone but if they feel it is something to worry about they will let you know
