Recently, I've noticed that Luna's eyes looks different from the other. She's having a hard time opening it all the way, and it's FULL of some goeey mucus. There's a LOT of discharge surrounding her eye, and she's been acting way less... Active and a lot more as though she's been sedated. I immediately scheduled an appointment with a vet, of course, but my favorite vet (the only one I trust after some things that happened), only has availability starting a week from now. I was wondering if anyone else knows anything that could explain this? Thanks!

Luna needs to be seen sooner rather than later. This sounds as if she has a secondary bacterial infection (likely due to an upper respiratory viral infection.) She could also had a scratch to her eye that is now infected.

Does she have a history of sneezing, watery eyes, eye discharge ect...?

I have a favorite vet we prefer to see; but this sort of thing, go for whoever has the first open appointment.  It does sound like an infection that will need medication.  Perhaps others can advise on how to give her some relief until you can get her in there.

Well, I have great news! The vet just called, and he just had a patient cancel, so he's squeezing me in at 2 today! (It's 10:20 ATM.) Crossing my fingers that she's OK...:cross:

That's great news!  Please let us know what the vet says and how she is doing!  I'm glad she won't have to wait.  it's hard when they get sick on weekends!

So, apparently, she's not doing so well. She's got a bad virus, and apparently, she's also got an autoimmune disease... I didn't quite catch the name, but it's making it harder for her to eat and drink, so I really have to push that. :sigh:

She probably has an upper respiratory infection and feline herpes virus.  The upper respiratory infection can be healed and the herpes can be managed.  Did the vet give you medication?
