My cat has a limp on his right paw, and can't support it when he walks, and when he sits he puts the paw in the air. It was really weird, because yesterday evening he walked completely fine, and chased insects etc. He slept all night in my bed, and when I woke up I could see he had the limp. I don't really know what to do right now, so if someone could help me that would be great. (He is 2 years old)

There's not really anything anyone can tell you over the internet in a case like this. You'd have to get a vet to examine him to see what's going on. Could be he just sprained it jumping too hard while chasing insects, and it could heal on its own just fine. Or he could have a more serious injury which will just get worse. :dk: The fact that he's not putting any weight on it at all and is holding it up in the air is worrying and points to a more serious injury to me.

Yeah but the weird thing is that when we went to bed he was just fine, and he wasn't limping at all. Also, the bed we slept in, were no more than 60 cm or so high, and I don't think that he could hurt his leg jumping down from that, but I don't know.

I recommend taking your little buddy to the vet if he continues to keep weight off of it and holding it in the air. It could be something very minor and will probably clear up on it's own eventually, but since it seems to cause considerable discomfort I would have it checked to rule out something more serious that might cause problems later in time. One of my cats had the same thing happen (more or less) and we took him to the vet only to find a tiny splinter got stuck in his foot/ankle, probably when jumping off of our bed. The splinter was tiny but it must have been very painful as I've never seen that particular cat react to something like that. Cats can disguise their discomfort surprisingly well...if your kitty is in obvious pain, I would get him to the vet to rule out anything harmful and get him/her some relief from the pain.

Yeah if he doesn't get better, I'll definitely take him to the vet.
