I have to give an injection of Buphrenone to my cat tomorrow moring between shoulder blades--subcutaneous--do I have to inject the full needle or just the tip? I am not sure I am going to be able to do this

Did your vet show you how to give the injection, like tenting up the skin and where in the "tent" to insert the needle?

Do you know how long the needle is? (ie 5/16", 1/2", etc). That might make a difference in how far you insert it. If it's a 1/2'' or longer, you might want to be careful that you don't push the needle through the other side of the tent, which would result in the meds going on the fur. If it's a short needle, you'll probably want to push it in all the way or it might slip out when you depress the plunger. Also depends on how thin your cat's skin is. Here is a video with a simple demo:

How long is the needle? If it's 5/16 inch you can fully insert the whole needle into the puled up scruff. If the needle is 1/2 inch or 1 inch, I would only put less than half the needle into the scruff.

To make inserting the needle easier, insert it bevel side up. The bevel is the slanted tip of the needle.
