Our little stray is about 6 weeks old. I'm happy to give him as much food as he'll eat, but I'm not sure if he's getting enough. He's eating about 75grams (almost a full pouch) of Royal Canin wet kitten food each day, mostly at night. This doesn't seem like much, but his energy has improved immensely since we brought him home 5 days ago. Also he poops and pees like it's going out of style. I just thought he might eat more as we haven't given him any dry food yet.

When my kitten was small I would put out food for him and if he finished it I would put out more.  The kitten will go through growth spurts and want to eat more at those times.

My abandoned babies are 4 weeks and 2 days at the moment, they get through 4/5 pouches of wet food, a HUGE bowl of slightly softened royal canin baby cat food and 5 bowls of royal canin baby cat milk with 150ml of milk at each time, the milk and wet food I space out for them but the dry food is there for them all the time, guaranteed if I fill the bowl when I go to bed at night every last crumb is gone in the morning little piggies!

I think Handsome Kittys way of if they finish it give them some more is a good idea and is what I always done when hand feeding them milk

I suggest you feed your kitten wet food several times a day, including leaving moistened kitten chow for him at all times.

Once his systen adjusts and catches up he will probably begin eating far more.

You may want to get him checked for worms soon at the vet.
