So my cat Mischief is only about a year old and she eats grass and we think she might be sick from it well she won't eat dry cat food or drink any water but when we give her wet cat food she licks the gravy up I was just wondering will this help with her hydration and give her protein she needs?

I think you need to get her to the vet. Whilst it's normal for cats to eat a little grass, her refusal to eat and drink is worrying. It's possible she has a blockage somewhere. Is she using the box as normal?

If all she's actually consuming is the gravy from the wet food then she's DEFINITELY not eating anything like enough, and will be getting dehydrated too. Is she showing any signs of nausea such as licking her lips a lot? That would be something else to tell your vet, as nausea is a very common reason for cats refusing to eat.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but we're NOT vets, and can't diagnose - only offer advice and strategies to cope with diagnoses.

I hope Mischief feels better soon :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Its good that she isn't nauseated. I'm glad she'll likely see the vet later. Hopefully it's nothing serious :cross:

I just fed her some wet cat food and she ate a few pieces of it and she has some head shaking but she doesn't seem to be in any pain she'll meow when you pet her head for too long as well.

Head shaking? Have her teeth been checked? She might simply have a sore mouth which makes eating painful. Its a very common reason for cats to stop eating.

She hasn't been to the vet since we got her fixed and it doesn't seem to hurt when she was eating.

Hmmm....As this proves, it really is impossible to even begin to diagnose over the internet - especially for non vets ;) I honestly think a vet check is the best option. Cats can get very sick very fast from not eating enough. do let us know what the vet says.
