Hi everyone!

I'm new to the site as well as to kittens :)

We got our kitten (Iggy) at 4 weeks, which was much sooner than expected, but the couple had other 7 kittens to take care of and he was already starting to eat so we took him home.

He's been doing great and now at 7 weeks is becoming much more energetic and all... kitten like!

However, we noticed these strange crusts on his nose over the past few days and I couldn't find any similar images on the internet. We are bringing him to the vet on Monday anyway for the vaccinations so we will definitely have them check it out. They seem like scabs or crusts, slightly bumpy.. Perhaps an allergy or irritation caused by something in the house?

When he eats, he pretty much scrunches his face in the food or bowl but not as much as he used to :)

Thanks!

Leah

There HAVE been other cats/kittens with something very similar here on TCS.  Problem is, no one ever came back and said what it was after their Vet visits

Could be anything, really.  From bruising, to some sort of skin infection, to a dirty face
It's just a good thing he has a Vet appointment anyway, 'cause that's what we always recommend, after a good facewash that is.

It could also be ringworm, a fungal infection but no one can diagnose it by a picture.  Discuss with your vet.
