I recently brought my budgie Jacob to my mom's house 'cause I didn't trust my dad with him. We've got a cat here called Chuck, (though we often call him "the baby"). Chuck's technically an indoor cat, since he was declawed and almost killed by another cat when he was little. When he plays outside, he sometimes catches things like chipmunks, which he'll play with for a while before letting them go.
Anyway, when I brought Jacob over, Chuck was really interested, but Jacob was scared. We had a cat before who got into my room and knocked over the cage to eat the birds. Jacob flew around go keep the cat away until someone could get there for help, but since then he's been nervous around cats.
So now Chuck gets curious, and it's all fine until Jacob starts getting gibbery, then Chuck thinks it's a game and will run from one side of the cage to the other and I have to separate them. But when I let Jacob out, he'll sit on top of the cabinets 'cause he can fly and knows Chuck isn't allowed on the counter so he's safe XD
I'm trying to train them, but since Jacob's so afraid it'll be tough. Not giving up, though
